Stocks Turn Mixed After Seeing Initial Weakness – U.S. Commentary

After moving lower at the open, stocks have regained some ground over the course of early trading on Tuesday. The major averages have bounced off their lows for the young session, with the Nasdaq peeking above the unchanged line.

Currently, the major averages are turning in a mixed performance. While the Nasdaq is up 5.71 points or 0.1 percent at 4,772.50, the Dow is down 38.86 points or 0.2 percent at 17,496.53 and the S&P 500 is down 3.50 points or 0.2 percent at 2,033.5.

The initial weakness on Wall Street was partly due to a notable decrease by the price of crude oil, which is pulling back further off its recent highs.
