The natural gas market remains soft on account of the warm winter. Demand is still down for the year, mainly in the residential and commercial sectors. Even though production is nearly flat, the elevated storage levels are keeping the price of natural gas and The United States Natural Gas ETF (NYSEARCA:UNG) down. Also, the bearish sentiment in the oil market might have contributed to the low price of natural gas. Looking forward, temperatures are still expected to be higher than normal; this doesn’t bode well for the direction of natural gas.
