With a relatively small number of session days planned until the end of the year the question becomes will any of the various pieces of legislation make it to Governor Rendell’s desk?
This week, HB 1489 (Severance Tax) was referred back to the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee. Some in the Senate are hopeful that Senator Gene Yaw’s disclosure legislation, SB 297, sees some action. SB 297 has passed the Senate and is in the House Appropriations Committee.
The other issue is along with Clean and Green legislation. Senator Yaw is the sponsor of SB 298, which remains in Senate Appropriations while Representative Houghton’s, bill HB 1394, addresses the issue as well.
That bill has passed the House and is in the Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee.
The House is scheduled to return to session on December 7th.
