Impact fee revenue comes as welcome news for local budgets

Some welcome news for municipal budgets came on Wednesday from the state Public Utility Commission — millions of dollars is on its way to local coffers from the Marcellus Shale impact fee.

Elk County will get the largest local portion of the impact fee, with $383,148.13 slated for the county’s portion, followed by McKean County with $365,240.39; Potter County with $256,456.52; and Cameron County with $233,310.86.
