Crews preparing for construction of Constitution Pipeline

Crews are assembling a gas line coating plant in Guilderland, New York, as they wait for the state to issue permits allowing them to start construction of the $680 million Constitution Pipeline. The pipeline will carry natural gas from the Marcellus Shale formation into New York.
The controversial 124-mile pipeline is a joint venture between four oil and gas companies who want to bring natural from northeastern Pennsylvania to the Schoharie County town of Wright, New York. Williams Partners, Cabot Oil Gas Corp., Piedmont Natural Gas Co. and WGL Holdings Inc are looking to supply enough gas to heat 3 million homes throughout the Northeast.
